Celebrating the life of
James F. Tessanne
January 18, 1938 - July 21, 2008
James F. Tessanne, 70, died Monday, July 21, 2008 in Savannah.
Mr. Tessanne was born in Canton, OH on January 18, 1938, the son of the late Arthur and Marie Tessanne. James was a graduate of Ohio State University. During the time of his formal education he was also beginning his military career in the United States Air Force of which he retired after thirty-one years as Master Sergeant. During his military tenure he served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After his retirement he began his second career at Gulfstream where he served for twenty-two years, retiring as a Senior Inspector. While at Gulfstream he was the Aircraft Inspector for the Presidential Fleet of Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton. Mr. Tessanne was very proud of helping rebuild the B-47 which is displayed outside the Mighty Eighth Air force Museum. James was a longtime member of Savannah First Seventh-day Adventist Church and a member of the VFW.
Mr. Tessanne was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-four years, Marvin G. Tessanne. He is survived by his son; James F. Tessanne, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Tammy T. and John S. Burgess of Bulloch County, Cynthia D. Tessanne of Savannah, Karen T. and Ronald S. Richardson of Savannah; son, William W. "Bill" and Juana Tessanne of Savannah; grandchildren, Michael Tessanne, Linda Collins, Chris and Carl Tessanne, Virginia Collins, Cheryl Burgess, John S. Burgess, IV, James Collins, Sarah Tiffany Burgess, Cynthia Anna Tessanne, Joshua Joseph Burgess, Darrin and Derick Tessanne and Ronnie Richardson; great-grandchildren, Liam Tessanne, Christopher Lee Barwick, Cadence Collins, Micayle Tessanne and Cameron Collins; he is also survived by five siblings and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service: 3:30 PM Saturday at Savannah First Seventh-day Adventist Church in Pooler. Burial will follow at the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery with full military honors.
Tessane Family my prayers are with you during this fork in the road of life. I will cherish my memories of Sergeant Tessanne as a member of the 283rd.
